Chess Club Awards

Lettuce Planting

Parent Volunteers assisted Kindergarten to Grade 3 students in planting lettuce in the school garden on Tuesday, May 10. 

If all goes well, we will look forward to having our "Spuds and Salad" luncheon near the end of June. 

Thank you to Mrs. McAllister, Div. 14 Kindergarten Teacher and School Garden Co-ordinator, and Emma Hatfield, School Garden Parent Volunteer, for co-ordinating this event for our students.

Students were invited to wear Blue/Green/Brown (Earthy Colours) and participate in a community clean-up for Earth Day on Friday, Apr. 22.

Auguston Chess Competition

Chess Competition is for interested Grade 1-5 students.

Thank you Mr. Ketelaar, Div. 10 teacher, and Mrs. Smith, Div. 8 teacher, for co-ordinating and leading the playing of chess for our students.

Chess happens at lunch times (days vary from week to week) during the month of April.

There will be ribbons for grade winners and trophies for the top 3 overall!

On April 13 Auguston students were invited to dress in clothing from their culture (or another culture) for Multi-Cultural Day!

Green Shirt Day

Organ Donation awareness in memory of the Humboldt Hockey team

Auguston students were invited to wear a GREEN shirt or Sports JERSEY (and any type of bottoms) on Thurs, Apr. 7. This was a FREE Dress up Day.

Drum Making

Gr. 5 Indigenous Students made drums on Tues, Feb. 15, with Elder Tina and Mr. Colbert, along with other Indigenous students in Clayburn's catchment.

Valentines Day

Students were invited to participate in Valentine's No Uni Day by wearing red, white, pink or purple on Monday, Feb. 14. This was our 4th "no uni for a toonie" day (the first one was Abbotsford Canucks on Oct. 18, the second was Costume Day on Oct. 29 and the third was PJ and Christmas Wear Day on Dec. 17).
