Students at Auguston are called Auguston Arrows and each of the letters stands for an important virtue:

A = Ambitious
R = Respect
R = Responsibility
O = Order
W = Wise
S = Safe

In September 2000, Auguston Traditional Elementary School opened its doors and became the second traditional elementary school in the Abbotsford School District. As a traditional school, Auguston operates within the Public School System, and follows the prescribed curriculum and regulations of the British Columbia Ministry of Education. As of the 2019-20 school year, Auguston Traditional is no longer a school of "choice". Due to enrollment pressures, we are moving forward as a catchment school where no Lottery system is in place. In conjunction with this we are now officially a feeder school to Clayburn Middle. Regardless of this change, as a traditional school, we have a strong emphasis on ensuring:

a consistent, structured approach to instruction
a clearly defined standard of academic achievement
a clearly defined standard of behaviour
