Students were invited to participate in Valentine's No Uni Day by wearing red, white, pink or purple on Monday, Feb. 14. This was our 4th "no uni for a toonie" day (the first one was Abbotsford Canucks on Oct. 18, the second was Costume Day on Oct. 29 and the third was PJ and Christmas Wear Day on Dec. 17). See Valentines Day - No Uni.
Thank you for your support, Auguston, of this worthy, local cause! $375 was donated today from our No Uni for a Toonie fund, along with many contributions received from our school community! Thanks again!!
We have had many students vaccinated in the past week which is fantastic news. Due to the change in their child’s vaccination status, some parents have enquired if students still have to wear a mask. The answer is YES. The K-12 mask mandate does not change with vaccination status. All district Staff, Middle and High school students who have been vaccinated are still required to wear a mask (as per the guidelines).
Thank you for all your support during a difficult time. We feel for all of those affected by the disastrous floods that have impacted our community. Covid-19 and keeping our community safe continues to be a focus here at our school and in the School District.
A reminder to please let your child's teacher AND the school office (auguston [at] abbyschools.ca) know if your child/ren will be away on an extended absence from school (ie. Safe Arrival is limited to 3 days maximum).
Students in Div. 10-15 went searching for a pumpkin in Auguston's "pumpkin patch". The pumpkins were used for activities in their classrooms before being taken home.
Thank you Volunteers for picking up the pumpkins & Auguston PAC for sponsoring this event for our students!
Thank you to Lacey Evans (Reekie), Hot Lunch Co-ordinator, and Parent Volunteers. After all this time, it was a treat to have parents in the school and hot lunch back!
I just wanted to say thank you to our entire Auguston School community for all your support in the month of September. Students are now settled in their classes and can focus on what is most important which is building relationships with staff and their peers. Seeing all the students playing together at recess and lunch was my highlight of the month as this brought a great deal of joy to all the students. We soon forget that they haven’t been able to play together and/or see their group of friends outside in 18 months!
