Mask Mandate for Students

We have had many students vaccinated in the past week which is fantastic news.  Due to the change in their child’s vaccination status, some parents have enquired if students still have to wear a mask.  The answer is YES.  The K-12 mask mandate does not change with vaccination status.  All district Staff, Middle and High school students who have been vaccinated are still required to wear a mask (as per the guidelines). 

Sledding

Was so exciting to see the snow today! If students choose to bring sleds, they will be allowed to use them this year. However, they will have to be stored outside (not in the school) so you are bringing them at your own risk.  The wetness of the floors the sleds bring (slipping hazard on floors) along with us trying to avoid congregation in the halls due to our Communicable disease plan is the reason for this decision.   Gr. 5’s only west side hill maybe used only if they are using helmets and sledding on single sleds (no doubling up) and stay within the coned off sledding path.   There is a container and basketball post that we will do our best to keep the kids away from, however, there is always a risk when going down a steep hill.   We will only open this hill if we feel it is safe to do so.
