Email from Principal on Dec. 1
Hello Auguston Community,
Thank you for all your support during a difficult time. We feel for all of those affected by the disastrous floods that have impacted our community. Covid-19 and keeping our community safe continues to be a focus here at our school and in the School District.
Christmas Spirit
To ensure we are keeping everyone safe, I am sure it is of no surprise to you that we will not be having a Christmas concert this year. Putting on our fantastic show is challenging when things are "normal", let alone when managing and preparing for all the protocols we must consider. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to a time when we can see those singing and smiley faces once again! We still will have fun however! Please see the attachment, Colbert 5 days of Christmas. We have some added spirit days and some things to still make this holiday season a memorable one for the students.
Masks
We continue to support the mask mandate, but we would ask that parents do their best to send their child with a cloth or disposable mask. We do provide disposable masks for those students who need them, however, this causes a great deal of unnecessary waste for our community. At times, teachers are spending a considerable amount of time reminding students to put their masks on. Please encourage your child to adhere to the mandate at all times so teachers can focus on the teaching and learning!
We will be sending out a newsletter before the end of December, but wanted to send this information out ASAP. I thank you for all of your support.
Mr. Colbert
