Black History Month

In order to celebrate Black History Month, Division 3 did some research into the many ways that both Canadian and American Black heroes have fought for equality and freedom in these two countries. Each student chose a person based on his or her area of expertise (e.g. Science, Civil Rights, Athletics) and did some research as to how his or her actions have changed the world for the better. It was a very powerful assignment.

Principal's Message from Mar. 4

I have started this newsletter about 5 different ways and have deleted every opening sentence.   I figured I would start with this opener just to get me started so I could complete this before Spring Break.  I guess what I am saying in a “nutshell” is that being speechless is not usually a trait I would label myself with.  How do you possibly summarize this past year?  I will give it a go……

Pen Pal Activity

Mrs. Small's class wrote letters to both Mrs. Charest and Mrs. van den Ham's class as a way to connect to our friends in other cohorts (that are on a different schedule) and practice our letter writing skills.  Our class was so excited to start this pen pal project and just received our first letter back!  Our next reply is going to be a postcard.

Principal's Message from Feb. 4

What a great start to 2021!

As a staff we wanted to say Thank You to our parent community for all your kind words and gifts to celebrate the Christmas season.   We truly feel appreciated by all of you and rest assured, these gestures mean a great deal to all of us.

This week I met with all classes to celebrate that we made it through half of the school year.  As a staff, we wanted to have some time for student and staff reflection as this first half is like no school year any of us have experienced before.
