Last Full Week of School!

We are heading into the last full week of school for 2020-21! 

Please note the following as we wrap up this school year:

• Yearbooks will be handed to Gr. 5’s on Thursday during the school leaving ceremony.  We ask that the yearbooks stay at home on Friday.  On Monday, Jun 28, teachers will be handing yearbooks to all students who have ordered them.
• Year End Awards will be handed out in classes on Tuesday, June 29.
• Our school office will be closed as of Mon, July 5th, 2021, due to the fact that our office carpet is being replaced (otherwise the office would have been closed as of July 8). Mrs. Tait and I are going to work on Canada Day and the weekend to finish off the school year. If you need something from Mrs. Tait, she will be available on July 1st and 2nd.  Mr. Colbert will be here additionally on July 5th. Office officially closed for the Summer from July 6th  to August 29th.  We will re-open on Monday, August 30th.
• Our last donation this year from the No-Uni for Toonie fund, will be $400 on behalf of our students to the Downie-Wenjack fund that supports Indigenous reconciliation across Canada.  We have signed up to be part of this program (we are now an official school) and will work as a school community to support this important cause.  See more info at: https://downiewenjack.ca/support-us/
• Playground Use:  The playground is still off limits from 7:30am to 3:30pm until June 30th.  Starting July 1st, the playground can be used as it normally would on weekends, etc.
• Noon Hour Supervisors:  If you are interested in applying to be a noon hour supervisor for next year, please email auguston [at] abbyschools.ca so we can send you a job application, along with information on what is required.  This is a paid position. Hours are typically one hour a day from 12:30-1:30pm.
• Tours for Kindergarten and New students:  We are planning to hold some short tours (if we are allowed) between August 30th and September 3rd.  I am unable to commit to a date at this time due to the fact I am waiting for some meetings to be scheduled at the District Level.  Will send out this information as soon as we have it.
