
Gr. 4/5 Track & Field - Rescheduled
On June 14 (rescheduled from June 8), Grade 4 and 5 students have the opportunity to compete in our Track & Field Meet at Rotary Stadium.
Participation in the meet is part of the Gr 4-5 PE curriculum and students are expected to attend. Students must participate in at least 1 event and can do up to a maximum of 5 individual events. There is no cost to students associated with this event.
Transportation will be provided via school bus. Students will arrive to school at the regular time, and be bussed to the stadium at approximately 9am. ** Students who wish to do the 800M run will need to arrive at 9am by private transportation. **
Students will be back to the school by 2pm. Any parent wanting to take their child home directly from the stadium, must go to their child’s classroom teacher to sign them out in person.
This is a whole day event, so students need to be well-prepared. Please come in appropriate clothing including gym shoes, (no spikes or bare feet) and bring plenty of food, water, and sunscreen. Students must bring gym strip, as well as running shoes (open/non-lace up shoes or boots are not acceptable).
Parents are welcome to attend. There is ample seating in the bleachers, as well as the opportunity to come to field level to observe when your child participates in any field event. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help with giving out ribbons for the races throughout the day. If you are able to volunteer and are an approved volunteer (have completed the volunteer process and CRC), please indicate so in schoolcash.
Practices will occur during PE classes and some lunch times.
