Breakfast Program: 14 Years of Connection and Support

November 22, 2024

For 14 years, Margaret Stenersen Elementary School has been privileged to partner with Living Hope Church to host a Community Breakfast every Thursday morning. This program has become a cherished tradition, offering families a chance to gather, enjoy a meal together, and build connections within our school community.

Each Thursday from 7:45 to 8:15 AM, families are invited for a hearty breakfast, served by dedicated volunteers from Living Hope Church. The breakfast typically includes pancakes and sausages.  The meal is not just about food—it's an opportunity for families to interact, meet new people, and deepen relationships within our school community. On average, between 90 and 120 people attend each week.

After breakfast, students are invited to participate in games and activities organized by Keith Service, the Youth Care Worker, Sherry Nev, the PE Teacher, and Deanna Findlay, the Classroom teacher. The games help students prepare for their school day in a fun and engaging way.

We are incredibly grateful to Living Hope Church and all the volunteers who make this program possible, especially to Pearl Peters and Pastor Steve Berkenpas. Their ongoing support not only nourishes our students but also strengthens the entire Margaret Stenersen community. Here’s to many more years of building relationships, fostering connections, and creating lasting memories together!
