Parent's Role

Education is a partnership which involves the teacher, the parent, and the student. We encourage all of our parents to take an active role in their child’s education.

Some ways to get involved include:

  • show your child that you value education, and school involvement
  • get to know your child’s teacher - good communication is important
  • take part in school activities as noted in the school and PAC newsletters - be a parent volunteer
  • attend open houses and parent-teacher conferences
  • contact the school if you have a question or concern
  • make sure that your child has brought home all school notices and permission slips
  • read and review the school handbook in your child's planner with your child
  • help your child make the most of his or her study time, show encouragement and support
  • ensure that your child arrives at school prepared for the school day (supplies, homework, gym strip, lunch)
  • review and sign student planners daily to keep apprised of school work
